Those on social security, including SSI and SSDI have been living paycheck to paycheck for far too long, and given that most Americans say they'll rely on social security for a good portion of their retirement income, the program needs an overhaul. SSA, SSI, and SSDI benefits are counting on President Biden, Democrats, and Republicans to get something done, and being that it looks like Republicans will take back majority in at least the House come the midterm elections, they may need to work out a bipartisan piece of legislation to expand social security benefits, so those that rely on them, including people on SSI and SSDI, can continue to receive them for a longer period of time, and also possibly at a higher amount.
