It’s frequently voted best tennis ball machine by reviewers due to its advanced custom drill feature, full range of all the basic ball machine functions, quality construction and reliability. Let’s look at the advanced features of the Spinshot Player that make it a top seller and set it apart from other ball machines on the market. The Spinshot Player’s best feature is the ability to create custom drills via our Drill Maker app. Drill Maker has two functions - it’s your machine’s remote control and it allows you to create and save your own custom drills. A drill is simply a sequence of balls delivered by the machine used to practice a specific shot or a combination of shots. For example a drill might be a series of forehands to the baseline, or alternating forehand and backhand volleys at the net, or a combination of these shots put together. Each drill on Drill Maker consists of a 6 ball sequence that is played over until the ball hopper is empty. Each ball in the drill sequence can be the same, or they can be different. This is what makes the Spinshot Player unique. A drill can mimic a real match play scenario by delivering balls to different court positions, at different speeds, heights, spin and feed rates, just like you would see in a tennis match. Drill Maker is free and is available for both Android and iPhone. The Player is available in a High Speed / High Spin model that is capable of producing lots of spin on the ball whilst still maintaining a high ball speed. The normal speed machine will deliver a slower ball if a lot of spin is put on the ball. Ball speed is up to 110 km for the normal speed, or 130km for the high spin / high speed model. Both models can be reduced in speed to around 30km. Ball capacity is around 120 balls. It has both horizontal and vertical oscillation - horizontal oscillation mean it turns on its base to deliver balls from one side of the court to the other. Vertical oscillation means the internal motors can tilt and deliver balls low across the net to high for practicing smashes. The Player machine has a large range of spin options. You can select a flat delivery, or there are 9 levels of top spin and 9 levels of backspin. The feed rate between balls is also fully adjustable from about 2 seconds to 10 seconds The Drill Maker app connects to the ball machine via WiFi or BlueTooth - you don’t need a WiFi connection - the machine has it’s own WiFi connection and machines built 2022 onwards also come with a BlueTooth option. As mention Drill Maker has two primary functions, the first function being a remote control. You can use Drill Maker to start and stop the ball feed, switch between your saved drills, and check the battery level. The second function of the Drill Maker is to create and edit your custom drills. There are 12 preprogrammed drills that come with the Player machine but you can change these at any time using Drill Maker.
