U.S. will ask China to tighten North Korea sanctions in upcoming security talks

The United States will formally ask China to impose tighter sanctions on North Korea during this week's high-level security talks between the two countries. The State Department says the North Korean issue will take top priority in the discussion, with Washington seeking China's cooperation in addressing the regime's growing nuclear threat. On Wednesday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis, will be hosting top Chinese diplomats and defense officials for a meeting in Washington. While the State Department has praised China's efforts to ramp up pressure on the regime, it says Beijing could do more, such as clamping down on local firms that do business with the North.
