(7 Sep 2020) Dozens of supporters of President Trump gathered in Oregon City on Monday ahead of a Labor Day caravan rally. Organisers of the event said the caravan would not enter Multnomah County, where the city of Portland is located, "to help keep everyone safe." Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a supporter of a right-wing group called Patriot Prayer, was shot and killed on 29 August after a pro-Trump caravan cruised through downtown Portland. The suspected killer was fatally shot by police on Thursday. The city has seen weeks of sometimes violent demonstrations which started in late May after the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
