Serious Texas Flash Flood Threat Tonight – Hill Country & Concho Valley Need to Stay Alert
A dangerous flood risk is rising across parts of the Concho Valley, Hill Country, and into Central and North Texas overnight into Sunday morning. There is a threat of locally severe, rapid-onset flooding caused by slow-moving, heavy rainfall expected to develop before dawn and continue into Sunday morning. Hourly rainfall could surpass 3 inches, with rain lasting for several hours. Localized totals of over 7-9 inches are possible, especially in areas of the Concho Valley and Hill Country. We strongly advise against camping along any rivers in the Hill Country of Texas overnight, as some spots may experience quick water rises. We recommend that people in these regions stay alert to weather conditions overnight into Sunday morning and have ways to receive weather alerts, especially if you live in a flood-prone area.
