After Paris, Utrecht, Eindhoven, and Luxembourg, it is now Antwerp's turn. And the MC20 is not alone there. A wealthy Maserati enthusiast is making one of his Maseratis from his impressive collection available for part of the tour on Belgian soil. And it just so happens that this is a very special example: the MC12. The supercar itself is already very special, but it is also a unique example with a very exclusive story. Autovisie editor Sjoerd van Bilsen traveled to Antwerp for the special rendezvous between the newest supercar and the penultimate supercar from Maserati: the MC20 and the MC12. Maserati unveiled the MC20 in Modena on September 9. Under the watchful eye of 400 invited guests, the curtain was figuratively pulled on the MC20 during a massive show. Now, three weeks later, the MC20 has begun a tour of Europe, following an earlier start on an Asia tour by another (yellow) example. The European tour coincides with the start of production of the sports coupe at the Maserati factory in Modena. Although the first examples of the sports coupe—the Spider with a retractable hardtop follows in 2021—are already on the assembly line, the first buyers will not receive the keys until the end of the first half of 2021. The MC20 kicks off with a 3.0 V6 engine. Later, in 2022 to be precise, Maserati will launch a fully electric variant.
