Optical Drives - CD and DVD on Chromebook - Audio CDs Updated 2018

As you may have noticed, many new laptops do not come with an internal CD or DVD player. So an external CD/DVD player is needed. I used a Samsung Ext. DVD Writer Model SE-S084 . Any of the Ext. DVD drives from Newegg should be the same. The Chromebook shown is an Acer Chromebook 15 Model CB515 Chromebooks do not play audio CDs, so those audio CD need to have their music converted to mp3 files in order to be played within a Chromebook. DVD movies do play now on Chromebooks, using the VLC App, found within the Chrome Web Store.
