Unlike physical SIM cards, eSIMs are embedded into devices. They offer tamper-resistance and over-the-air (OTA) updates. eUICC enables a SIM to hold multiple profiles. It allows remote SIM provisioning and enables connectivity providers to send their profiles remotely. It can also overcome roaming restrictions via a native profile that supports local technology that may be unavailable through roaming agreements.
