J.S. Bach - Suite No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007 i. Prelude ii. Allemande iii. Courante iv. Sarabande v. Minuet I / II vi. Gigue Renato Lucas, cello RENATO LUCAS embodies versatility as a musician. Having received training in the Philippines, Germany, the US, and the UK, he held the position of Principal Cellist with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra for three decades, frequently concertizing as a soloist and conductor at various events and music festivals both locally and internationally. He actively engages in collaborations with diverse art forms such as dance, visual arts, literature, theater, and film music. In the academic realm, Lucas, holding a Ph.D. in History, holds the esteemed position of Full Professor at the University of Santo Tomas where he was recently honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award. His recording "ROMANZA," in collaboration with the renowned pianist Raul Sunico, received the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI) AWIT Awards. Additionally, Lucas serves as the President of the National Music Competitions for Young Artist Foundation (NAMCYA), an organization of which he himself was once a laureate.
