NIA RAIDS AT 50 LOCATIONS IN NORTH INDIA AGAINST TERROR GANGS

The National Investigation Agency on September 12 raided around 50 locations across North India linked to gangsters operating from both India and abroad following the killing of Punjab singer Sidhu Moose Wala. The raids are being conducted in coordination with local police force at locations linked to various gangsters in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi including the residence of Canada based gangster Goldy Brar and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. Accoring to the officials, recent investigation in some terror cases has revealed a nexus between these gangsters and terrorists. Reportedly the chief suspect in Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder, Lawrence Bishnoi is also operating from prison. The Union Home Ministry had asked the NIA to carry out intelligence-led coordinated operations against these gangsters. The raids are intended to arrest the local handlers of gangsters who are involved in terror cases and those involved in cross-border smuggling of arms are also on the radar .
