Ding Dong Merrily on High for Alto Saxophone. Play-Along/Backing Track The tune of this traditional Christmas carol was written by Thoinot Arbeau (1519-1593). Then later George Ratcliffe Woodward (1848-1934) harmonised it and set the lyrics to the tune, then published in 1924 . In my arrangement I have re-harmonised the original tune by Arbeau (with no lyrics) and added a counter melody. These saxophone play-alongs have have been written in a music minus one style with the accompaniment played by the backing track. The performer plays the solo part by following the sheet music.
