Learning to Read: The ZH Sound

Visit https://theproductiveteacher.com/lear... for more reading tools! Learning to read isn't magic; it is like math. We learn to read one step at a time. The first step is learning the sounds letters make. Once we know the sounds letters make, we can blend them into words. In our Learning to Read program, we take students through every step of learning to read, from the sounds in letters and digraphs to syllable patterns to words. Plus, this video series is designed for zero teacher help. In this video, we teach the different ways to make the "zh" sound. Students will identify the letters making the "zh" sound in different words and review sounds. Students will then read words using the letter sounds they have learned so far in the program. At this point in the program, students already know the most common sound of the letters and digraphs: s, a, t, m, d, e, c, h, r, i, n, b, f, g, k, j, o, l, u, ck, sh, v, w, ch, y, z, th, x, qu, tch, dge, a_e, sounds of y, soft c, soft g, e_e, i_e, o_e, u_e, open syllables, the "f" sound, consonant + le, long a, ar, long o, or, long e, er, long i, long u, long oo, short oo, ve, short a, short e, wh, short i, ng, short o, short u, oi, the "n" sound, aw, the "m" sound, ow, the "k" sound, schwa, the "r" sound, air, the "t" sound, ear, the "l" sound, the "s" sound, the "w" sound, silent l, the "ch" sound, the "sh" sound, and the "z" sound. This is the last video in the learning to read series. If you are a skilled reader and want to work on this program with one of your students, you can use our workbook and teacher program.
