Foreign COVID-19 patients to cover treatment expenses

해외유입 외국인 확진자, 격리 위반시 치료비 전액 부담 Starting Monday, foreign COVID-19 patients that violated quarantine rules after arriving in South Korea will be required to foot their treatment bill. From August 24th, foreigners confirmed with the virus entering the nation will be required to cover some or all of their treatment expenses. The costs will vary depending on how much their home countries charge Korean nationals for coronavirus treatment. The KCDC explained the new measures were deemed necessary due to a recent uptick in imported cases. Until now, free coronavirus treatment was provided to foreigners.
