However, recent DNA research from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) refutes those claims. 🔬 The UNAM mtDNA study (2020) analysed burials at San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán and Loma del Zapote (Veracruz) and found haplogroup A—one of the founder Native American lineages.
