Gateway Classic Cars is excited to consign this awesome looking 1966 Ford Mustang hardtop at our Milwaukee location. Considered Lee Iacocca’s dream car for the masses. Not since the Model-T has Ford seen such a successful model, selling over one million cars within two years. The first Mustang came off the assembly line in late 1964 and is still manufactured today. Officially the first Mustangs were titled as 1965 models. To date, well over 10 million Ford Mustangs have been sold. At an initial selling point of $2,368 became affordable to almost anyone who wanted to buy a car. The Mustang became known as an affordable sport coupe with room for four. Our 1966 Ford is an eye appealing example of the Mustang legacy. Painted in a crisp white with a light blue hood and tail section. Matched up to a “showroom new” blue vinyl interior. All set off by classic black racing stripes running the length of the car. The matching spoked white road wheels give this Mustang a masculine appearance. Under the hood is a highly detailed 289 C code V-8 attached to a C4 automatic transmission with a nine-inch rear differential. Engine features include a two-barrel carburetor, factory cast iron intake manifold and heads, Drake headers, and aluminized dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The complete under carriage and suspension have been restored. Including Mustang coil over front struts, front torsion bar, rear multi leaf springs, coil over rear shock absorbers and all bushings, sub frame bushings and seals have been replaced. Even the power drum brake system has been redone including a new reservoir, booster, brake lines and proportioning valve. Added features include a woodgrain steering wheel, full set of seatbelts, a Sunpro Super Tac II 8K RPM tachometer, 140 MPH speedometer and a Sunpro fuel, oil pressure, water temp, volts and boost gauges set-up mounted under the dash. To finish things off, a Sanyo Am/ Fm Cassette with Jenson speakers were installed. AS you can see, this 1966 Ford Mustang hardtop is ready to hit the road.
