Little Nightmares 3 is here! About time but unfortunately to a heavily mixed reception. This is a 100% collectibles walkthrough with all dolls, crows, nomes, statues and ghosts, presented with no deaths, and put together as quickly as I could after I'd played the game a few times to get a feel of it. I personally feel people have been overly critical of this game. I have my own issues with this game too but some of the reviews I've seen for it have been, to me at least, a bit harsh to flat out emotional. It's a not a bad game, maybe it's even actually a better than average to good game. For sure it clearly didn't live up to the hype of the 2 really great games that came before it. I do still think it's a good story but it just didn't have the magic of number 2 in my opinion. First off, the story is more miserable than the previous entry to the series, not a massive issue with me, but it has far more sadness rather than the mystery and intrigue like LN2, and also the characters didn't quite feel as epic and legendary as LN2 or even LN1. It's still a solid creepy fun game with an above average story but maybe it's not up to the towering heights of it's predecessor and because of this people may have choosen to hate it a tad prematurely. The game is worthy of some praise in my opinion but it might have been better as spin off instead of an actual entry to the Little Nightmares franchise. It's short in runtime, similar time to LN2 but I felt it should of had 5 chapters like LN2 to start with, instead of a DLC chapter 5 release whenever they feel like it. I think the reason people may not have liked it as much as LN1 & LN2 is because (SPOILER WARNING) Mono and Six don't make an appearance this time around. The story is connected to the world of Little Nightmares during a different time period. Mono and Six felt like better characters than Low and Alone, with cooler powers. Low travels through mirrors at the end of each chapter where as Mono would use his power during the actual game to travel throught the t.v's, and the cutscenes were interactive to a point when tuning the frequency. Alone basically does nothing in Nowhere. Six was like the Harbinger of Darkness at the end of both games where as Alone has no powers at all, so it feels like more of an imbalance when picking favourite characters from the series. It's not bad to try something new and expand the world of Little Nightmares for future entries to travel in different directions but something did feel missing ever so slightly but I enjoyed the game none the less. To me it's not as bad as others have made it out to be but I was expecting a little more. One last thing, I also think one ending is a bit lazy. People should have the option to get something extra for getting the collectibles and to have a slight variation from the main ending, instead of a little extra scene added like in any marvel film after the credits, at least for those who look for it but oh well, maybe next time with any luck.
