2025 SOLEMN HIGH MASS FOR THE TRADITIONAL PATRONAL FEAST OF OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR

This video is the annual Traditional Patronal Mass of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, offered by Fr. Paul Clark on January 15, 2025 at the OLPS National Votive Shrine, New Orleans, LA. The Mass was recorded by Tim Mcaskill Cinematic Weddings and sponsored by the Servants of Our Lady of Prompt Succor of New York. On June 13, 1928, at the request of the Most Reverend John William Shaw, Archbishop of New Orleans, Most Reverend Cornelius Van de Ven, Bishop of Alexandria, and Most Reverend Jules B. Jeanmard, Bishop of Lafayette, the Holy See approved and confirmed the choice of Our Lady of Prompt Succor as the Principal "Patroness of the City of New Orleans and of the State of Louisiana". The decree stated that each year, the Patronal Feast shall be celebrated on the fifteenth day of January, with the rite of double of first class, with octave, and with Proper Mass and Divine Office —duly approved; permission being granted to celebrate one Mass, solemn or sung, of the same Patronal Feast on the eighth day of January, on account of the civic holiday (the anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans). This Mass is offered beseeching the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for the conversion and sanctification in Christ, of all people of the United States of America, not just Louisiana, the protection of the sanctity of all human life and Holy Mother Church and for the holy intentions of the celebrant and all who view this video.
