Breaking the Bias | Alumni Breakfast Panel for International Women's Day 2022

Celebrate International Women's Day 2022 with this special breakfast panel event featuring several UCD alumni exploring the theme of 'Breaking the Bias' in their work and lives. Join: Siobhán McKenna, a D&I expert who has spearheaded inclusion and diversity initiatives for the Yayor of London and now is Head of D&I at the Public Appointments service in Ireland. Hilkka Becker, chair of the International Protections Tribunal with a career advocating for the rights of refugees and migrants, Dr Salome Mbugua a researcher, gender equality activist and human rights advocate for over 20 years who is the CEO of AkiDwA and co-president of European Network of migrant women Aisling Gannon, partner at law firm Eversheds Sutherland, an award-winning champion for equality in business, who has served as a committee member and Director of Irish Women Lawyers Association. Our alumni will be in conversation with UCD's Dr Conor Buggy, Conor has been involved in a wide array of initiatives focusing on equality, diversity and inclusion for the UCD community including the development of the recent Gender Identity and Expression Policy, the new Sexual Misconduct and Harassment Policy and the revised Dignity and Respect Policy.
