Old West Vignettes: Massacre at Dragoon Springs

During the completion of the construction of the Dragoon Springs stage stop in September of 1858, 3 men were brutally attacked in their sleep leaving 1 of them dead and 2 dying. The murderers then turned their weapons on the one remaining man: Silas St. John. St. John turned out to be more than they bargained for. This is the heroic tale of Silas St. John: "Of His Stuff the West Was Made." In 1862 a battle occurred at this same location between CSA soldiers and Apache warriors, that video is here:    • Old West Vignettes: Battle At Dragoon Springs   For more about this topic, check out these books: A Historical Guide To The Mormon Battalion and Butterfield Trail - Dan Talbot The Butterfield Overland Mail 1857-1869 - Conkling, Roscoe and Margaret https://www.patreon.com/InRangeTV?ty=h
