Ripple CTO, David Schwarts in a recent interview said that Ripple has been focusing on private federated side chains for central banks a lot because we think that it’s the one of most obvious immediate use cases. I think you will probably see those in a couple of months. Whether or not central banks will actually use them but the technology will be there and I think seeing real centralized federated side chains to provide features like DeFi is probably more like six to nine months away.’ Federated sidechains could be available for the XRP Ledger in the coming months and expand use cases for the XRP Ledger. You also might have noticed that he said they are working on technology for central banks using federated side chains and it is not far away. Central Banks will be using their own CBDCs and this is huge for XRP.
