On February 23, 2018, a discriminatory and hateful posting was shared on the official Facebook page of the Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diaspora’s Program (AMED) in the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University. Written by AMED’s director Professor Rabab Abdulhadi, the message included the following: “I consider the statement from President Wong…welcoming Zionists to campus, equating Jewishness with Zionism, and giving Hillel ownership of campus Jewishness, to be a declaration of war against Arabs, Muslims, [and] Palestinians…” Soon after Abdulhadi’s message was publicized, fliers and chalkings appeared across campus with the message: “Zionists are Not Welcome on This Campus.” More than 2 months later, not only is Professor Abdulhadi’s post still visible on the official AMED Facebook page, but in clear disregard for the concerns expressed by the administration and community, AMED has posted a series of defiant videos that once again show the AMED director vilifying Jewish and pro-Israel students at SFSU. This video contains excerpts from the videos shared on the official AMED Facebook page.
