#deathstar Imagine if the death star received the harry potter modular hogwarts treatment, where it’s broken up into 6 or 7 different sets, that you can buy separately, and assemble together to form a giant circle. In a way they’ve kinda already done that. I’m sure u’ve seen all of these sets, maybe except for the detention block, which was a Star Wars celebration exclusive from 2017. I do not have the money for this ...It uses fairly common parts, so I just pieced it together, with some modifications. In my mind, a UCS set’s existence, size, and price are only justified because this level of detail is impossible at a smaller and cheaper scale. You would not pay $50 just for one of the UCS X-Wing’s wings. You would have to get the whole X-Wing as one set. In this case however, we COULD have broken it up into smaller sets, with the option of buying everything else to make a giant Death Dish. And that’s why it’s not worth it to me. It’s not the price per piece, or weight per piece. It’s just that I don’t want a repeat of sets that I already own. And personally, minifigs just arent as important as the build to me. Looking at this proof of concept, I’ve pretty much got most of the rooms. The only big things that I’m missing are the Laser room, the conference room, a background to the hanger, the hallways, and the elevator? That and the circular shape I guess. Oh and I took fat thor’s body and threw on some swim trunks, for my own custom dad bod bathtub stormtrooper.
