Please don't suffer in silence; we want to support you however we can. ---------------------------------------------------------------- COMMITTING TO FOLLOW JESUS If you want to commit your life to following Jesus, you can say a prayer like this: "Lord Jesus, I am sorry I have been living for myself, please forgive me and help me to live for you. Thank you for dying on the cross to deal with every barrier I have put up between you and me. Please come and take first place in my life and live in your kingdom ways. Amen." Whenever anyone expresses that kind of attitude to God - asking Jesus to come into their life, recognizing their need for forgiveness - they can be sure he will. Because Jesus promised to do just that and, as God, he would never break a promise. Following Jesus makes a person a Christian - a member of the worldwide family of Jesus Christ; a family committed to helping each other make a real difference in the world by living for Christ and sharing the good news of his love in word and deed with all they meet. For anyone taking this step to follow Jesus, it is just the beginning. You'll soon find yourself talking to him - like any friend...that's prayer. You'll soon want to grow in relationship with him...through reading the Bible. You'll soon be keen to become involved and serving with others in his family...by going to a church. The key next step is to find a Christian who can walk with you as you allow the Holy Spirit to root you and grow you in Christ. The pastor of your local evangelical church will be happy to help you.
