Long Island Rep. George Santos said in an interview on a Brazilian podcast last month that he had an attempt on his life. He also said muggers attacked him in broad daylight on 5th Ave and 55th Street back in August 2021. The NYPD told News 4 that there were no records of the mugging or an attempt on Santos' life.
