Official figures show more than 400,000 people have died because of coronavirus. But what is the real number? How many people died because they couldn’t get treatment for other illnesses? A BBC investigation has looked at 27 different countries – and has found that the total number of deaths caused by the virus – both directly and indirectly – is much worse than it’s been reported. At least another 130,000 deaths have not been counted. This report by Sofia Bettiza starts in Indonesia.
