Wide is the road to destruction—but narrow is the path that leads to life. Jesus warned us in Matthew 7 that the wide road is easy, crowded, and familiar—but it ends in loss. The narrow road is costly, intentional, and often lonely, yet it leads to true life. As the year comes to an end, this is the moment to choose which road you’re really walking. God calls us in Jeremiah 6:16 to stand at the crossroads, to ask for the ancient paths—the way that is good—and to walk in it so we can find rest for our souls. The ancient path isn’t popular, but it is holy. It requires laying down the old sinful nature and taking on the character of Christ. Walking the narrow path means repentance, obedience, and transformation. It means closing doors that can’t go where God is taking you. Some habits won’t survive this journey. Some relationships won’t fit. Some mindsets must die so Christ can live fully in you. The narrow path demands surrender—but it produces life, peace, and eternal fruit. As this year ends, don’t carry what God is calling you to leave behind. Choose the narrow road. Choose holiness. Choose Christ.
