In this video I prepare kohlrabi grown in my kitchen garden. This odd vegetable is easy to grow successfully if the right variety is chosen. In my case, I have only had consistent luck with "Winner", which I purchase from Stokes seeds (update: Terek F1 from Johnny's Selected Seeds is even better than Winner). The reason I like this vegetable is that it is dual-purpose ("bulb" and leaves), and it has a wonderful mild flavor. These plants were transplanted in late September and harvested just before Christmas (Northern California region).
