People with Parkinson disease (PD) have a very high risk of fractures due to multiple falls, and few receive treatments that strengthen bone. The TOPAZ Study seeks to determine if treatments to improve bone density reduce fractures in people with PD. As experts in Parkinson disease and osteoporosis respectively, Dr. Michael Schwarzschild and Dr. Kenneth Lyles will discuss the study and the long-term consequences of fractures.
