The Day That Almost Ended the World

The Day That Almost Ended the World

One of the most emotionally difficult videos I’ve ever worked on. Pain, pain, and more pain. Watching countless hours of footage — the tears of survivors, entire towns reduced to rubble, and the silence in places where life existed just a day before — it becomes almost impossible to hold back your own emotions. More than 20,000 lives lost. 💔 It began with a powerful earthquake off the coast of Tohoku. Moments later came a massive tsunami that destroyed everything in its path. 🌊 And then, as Japan was still trying to grasp the scale of the disaster, the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident unfolded — the most severe nuclear incident since Chernobyl. ☢️ This is the story of a catastrophe that changed Japan and the world forever. A remembrance of those whose lives were taken by the waves, and of those who survived the unimaginable. 🕊️
