Credits: Poem Title: As Road Cross Author: Sandy Jane Sasi The road ahead was long and far So many cars just drove on past But none of them would ever last. ‎ ‎Then all I saw was sky and stone Tall buildings standing, cold and lone No sound, no people, just the view A quiet world without a clue. ‎ ‎Then I walked slowly, all alone, My footsteps soft on streets of stone No one to laugh, no hand to hold Just empty roads and air so cold. ‎ ‎A girl walked too, not far from me No map, no plan, no place to be. ‎ ‎Then step by step, I climbed the stairs Each one a weight, each one my cares. No voice behind, no hand to guide Just me and thoughts I held inside. ‎ ‎Then came a leaf with drops of rain, So still, it eased my pain. A hand reached out with gentle grace Like friendship’s touch in time and place. ‎ ‎Then I found you, my friend, so true A bond was formed, both bright and new We talked, we laughed, we shared our dreams ‎ ‎But time moved on, and so did you Your path was set, your skies were new And though we tried to hold on tight You had to go, to chase your light. ‎ ‎Then came new faces, bright and kind, ‎We crossed the street, together side by side Then we wandered through the mall Laughing loud, no care at all. Trying on shoes ‎ ‎People crossed the street, just like we did, Each one with a story, a path to go. The world kept moving, but here we stood ‎ Audio:[No copyright music] Je te laisserai des mots Song by Patrick Watson Link:   • Je te laisserai des mots
