WRGB 5:30pm Newscast (December 7, 1998)

The 5:30 newscast from WRGB (channel 6) in Schenectady, NY, the CBS affiliate serving New York's Capital Region. This aired through a whole block of WRGB's news which I am of course uploading all of. I recommend watching the 5pm first if you pay attention to the news stories and all that, but since I spent that video gushing on WRGB's on-air look at the time, I can discuss some of them here. This was another Christmas-themed upload, and this newscast heavily focuses on the holiday, with a story on the Festival of Trees display in Massachusetts and also gift ideas. Back then they had a call number dubbed "The Ho-Ho Hotline." Brad Holbrook and Sue Nigra anchor the news, with reports from Kelly Boland (Kelly Cass as she's known now), Ken Screven and Jack Aernecke. Sue Nigra anchored at WRGB from 1998 to 2006 and flip-flopped evening slots with Liz Bishop (who also appears here doing reports and a 6pm preview). Before that, Nigra was at WTEN, and ended up in a court battle with them when she left for WRGB over pay reasons. The news theme is In-Sink by 615 Music, and the voiceover is Jeff David, who temporarily replaced Charlie Van Dyke for a few years.
