Calling all vintage guns! After a century and counting on some of these vintage rifle models, old wood guns are still shooting strong. We're talking 1885 High Wall, Low Wall, 1859 / 1863 / 1874 / 1877 Sharps, Springfield Trapdoor, 1886 / 1871 Lever Action, 1860 Henry, Silver Boy, Golden Boy, Big Boy, 1873 Carbine, 1894 / 1895 Marlin, Rolling Block, Falling Block, Pedersoli, Uberti, Taylor's, Tradition's, or any old vintage gun that needs a little help seeing farther down range. There hasn't been much media on our Malcolm scopes to date, and we're aiming to change that. This is the start of a Malcolm series, looking at mounting and using our scopes in as many ways as we can get our hands on. We're going to take you through all sides of putting scopes like this on a rifle, and even through the characteristics and quirks of some of those same rifles. We'll be starting with the Uberti 1885 High Wall (octagon barrel, no taper), which we're going to take to a gunsmith to work up all the different mounting holes and dovetails. It should make a wonderful testing gun. Follow along on this series as we learn some important lessons and answer all the questions that we've heard. This series is still ongoing, and there's plenty of ground to cover. Next up: Reassembling your 1885 High Wall after misplacing the firing pin.
