The lead-up to Diwali, when we are busy cleaning and preparing for Ramchandraji’s return, has utmost significance. The scriptures explain that cleaning from the inside empowers us to see, experience, and appreciate the grace present in our lives. We also become qualified to receive knowledge. So how do we clean our mind? We could do it by maintaining good intentions while performing selfless actions or offering encouraging and constructive speech to others. Then there is also a correlation between the inside and outside. As we go around cleaning our space, we are learning, reflecting, and cleaning our insides without even realizing it! For instance, we grasp the values behind not storing and accumulating, not fearing, and not holding onto things. We understand and have faith that whenever we need something, we will get it. These revelations make us clean in our understanding, attitude, intentions, and actions. They make us ready for lighting the lamp of knowledge within us, so that we can bring into our lives, understanding, nobility, goodness, and freedom.
