The National Hurricane Center is tracking two disturbances, including one with a high chance of development in the next 48 hours. According to the NHC, a large area of disturbed weather — tagged Invest 90-E — is located near the southern Gulf of Mexico, over Central America and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Later on Monday and even into the night, the NHC expects a broad area of low pressure to form from this system, and as the week continues, officials say a tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to develop.
