Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, Volume 1 is a compilation box set by American singer and musician Elvis Presley. The four-album set was released in August 1, 1970, as his 39th album. The set peaked at #45 on the Billboard 200, remaining 36 weeks on chart. It reached also #25 on the Top Country Albums chart, and #36 on the Cash Box Albums chart. The box-set initially sold 150,000 copies, later its sales reached over 710,000 copies in the US, totaling more than 2,840,000 records sold! It was certified Gold on February 13, 1973, Platinum on March 27, 1992, and 2× Platinum on June 17, 1992, by the Recording Industry Association of America. Of the 51 tracks featured, five make their album debut in this collection: "Viva Las Vegas", "If I Can Dream" (single version), "Suspicious Minds", "Don't Cry Daddy", and "Kentucky Rain". Also included is an excerpt from the long out-of-print spoken-word EP, "Elvis Sails". All tracks in this box set are in mono. Note: In March 1, 1974, RCA Records reissues records 1 and 2 of box-set "Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, Volume 1", titled "Elvis’ Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Parts 1 & 2" (RCA Victor R-213690). It was sold exclusively through the mail via the RCA Victor "Record Club", with sales of over 750,000 copies, totaling more than 1,500,000 records sold. In June 1, 1978, RCA Records reissues records 3 and 4 from the same 4 box-set, titled "Elvis' Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Parts 3 & 4" (RCA Victor R-214657). It was also sold exclusively through the mail via the RCA Victor "Record Club", with sales of over 190,000 copies, totaling almost 400,000 records sold. It was re-released on August 12, 2022 as a deluxe lift-off box set containing 4LP's and a 20-page photo album. It is available as a limited edition of 2500 individually numbered copies on gold & black marbled vinyl. The box-set reached #72 on the German Albums chart (Offizielle Top 100).
