Petrol Prices Slashed from January 1 Major Relief Expected for Pakistanis Breaking News

A major relief may be on the way for citizens as Pakistan is likely to witness a significant reduction in petroleum product prices from January 1. According to initial working completed for the next 15 days, petrol prices are expected to drop by Rs 10.60 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see a reduction of Rs 8.59 per litre. Sources from the Ministry of Finance indicate that kerosene oil could become cheaper by Rs 9 per litre, while light diesel oil may drop by Rs 6.62 per litre. OGRA is set to forward its working paper to the government, after which the final decision will be taken considering revenue requirements, with approval from the Prime Minister. The expected reduction follows a decline in global oil prices, where petrol prices fell to $69.73 per barrel, while diesel prices dropped by $4.35 per barrel.
