Even though we furiously wanted Lin Dan to show some of the prowess he had in his glory days, whilst we also had doubts on whether he would deliver. On the other hand, kudos to his 19 year old opponent who proved to challenge Lin Dan even at such an age. It really was joyful to watch. Lin Dan's tactical awareness forged from years of experience, and Kunlavut's much younger physique enabled him to keep up. In the second end, Lin Dan made a little too many unforced errors, which was frustrating to say the least. But in the same way, Kunlavut proved he was able to force these errors from Lin Dan. I couldn't do anything about the coach to the left, which obviously covers part of the court. But I hope you can take away some good insights from this video and techniques from the warmup angle (It's very informative to watch the warmup! You can see the basic shots played by Professionals and learn from them). EDIT: After just hearing of Lin Dan's retirement, as is everyone, we feel a little bit sad. To see one of arguably the greatest careers in badminton come to an end, is really quite something. Personally, I feel like it was about time. Lin Dan has proved himself enough times. Through adversity, through perseverance, he has left a LEGACY for the younger generations. This is one of his LAST EVER matches, against ironically a promising upcoming Thailand player.
