Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). During the visit, COAS met in Jeddah today with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and General Fayyaz bin Hamid Al Rawli, Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Saudi Armed Forces. Met Issues of mutual interest, bilateral defense and security cooperation and regional peace and stability were discussed during the meetings. The COAS said that Pakistan values its historical and fraternal ties with the state and recognizes its unique place in the Islamic world. The two sides agreed to enhance defense cooperation in the areas of joint training, air defense, counter-terrorism and communications / information domain. They also agreed to further promote friendly relations and a deeper spirit of brotherhood in a sustainable strategic partnership, which is a key player in the unity of the Muslim Ummah in the region. COAS awarded King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence for important contribution in defense cooperation between the two countries
