Moral stories for kid : The cost of a false claim

The Boy Who Cried Wolf Once upon a time, there was a village named Dholakpur, situated beside a hill and surrounded by a deep forest. The forest was filled with many types of predatory animals. In this village lived a young shepherd boy named Chotu, who looked after a flock of sheep near his village. Chotu often felt bored and lonely while watching the sheep in the fields. One day, to amuse himself, he decided to play a trick on the villagers. He ran toward the village, shouting, “Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is chasing my sheep! Please help me save them!” The villagers came running to help him. But when they arrived, there was no wolf at all. Chotu laughed loudly and said, “I fooled you all! Ha ha ha!” The villagers were extremely annoyed. They warned him not to lie again, saying that if he did, they wouldn’t be eager to help him in the future. A few days later, Chotu played the same trick again. “Help! A wolf is attacking my sheep!” he cried. Once again, the villagers rushed to help, only to find there was no wolf. They were angry and said, “Lying is not funny. One day, you’ll be in real trouble!” Then came the bad day. One evening, a real wolf came out of the deep forest. The boy screamed in fear, “Wolf! Wolf! Please help me! Please help me!” But this time, no one came. They thought Chotu was lying again and that he was trying to fool them once more. The wolf attacked the sheep, and the boy was unable to save them.
