This video shows Carol from Sussex (Town) from Groove Zones Christmas! book (Chris Lawry, Keri Degg, Jack Lennon). Moonhouse Music are pleased to present Groove Zones Christmas! for those seeking some rather alternative Christmas repertoire! The sheet music consists of five festive arrangements, each presented in three different difficulty levels: Street (easiest - around grade 2-3), Town (around grade 3-5), and City (generally grade 6+). Groove Zones embraces a more commercial sound that will be highly appealing and a great motivator for personal practice. In the Groove Zones Christmas! book: Jingle Bingle Bells - (Street, Town, and City options) - A smooshy Jazz ballad inspired by some of our wonderful inspirational Crooners such as Michael Buble (and the other is hinted at in the title ;D) which then launches into an upbeat big band-style number which is full of joy and energy (before returning to the slower ballad-style for the ending). Carol from Sussex - (Street, Town, and City options) - From the sublime to the ridiculous! (and who is Carol from Sussex?!). This arrangement is now offered in a Rock/Metal style and is a crazy romp through the (once traditional) Sussex Carol. With thanks to the fabulous voice talents of Mr Nick McCarthy for the interjections on this recording (you filthy animal!!!). Guaranteed to pop a smile on your face (and also great when granny asks the teenage grandchild to "please play granny a nice Christmas Carol deary"...). In Dulci Jubilo - (Street, Town, and City options) - a simple Jazz Waltz so full of space and very chilled/laid back (plenty of room for embellishments etc if you want to add your own stamp to it). This is the easiest in the collection, with the Street version only being around grade 1-2). We Three Kings of Old London - (Street, Town, and City options) - a real dark/Blues inspired showpieces with a nod to some of the great collaborations including Candy Dulfer and Dave Stewart (Lily was Here) as you'll hear the instrument trades phrases with the guitar at the beginning and end. Deck the (Terry) Halls - (Street, Town, and City options) - was inspired by some of our great Ska bands so feel free to play this as obnoxiously as you can (and preferably do 'the walk' around the room as you play?!). Like the other pieces, this fresh new arrangement does wander off frequently from the known original melody so you basically have your own written solos (without having the stress/pressure of improvising). Groove Zones Christmas! is also available in Eb saxophone and Bb saxophone editions (at www.masquerade-music.com and www.moonhousemusic.com and other good retailers).
