After months of work, sweat and tears…here it is. Some time in May of 2024, I recorded the first clip for what would become the video you are watching now. I had already gained the idea for a video celebrating the 70th anniversary of Godzilla some time prior back then, but after recording a few more clips, the idea officially became a reality. Although it was certainly fun, to say this video was a mammoth task would be a dramatic understatement. I could fill a book with the amount of things that occurred with this video during the editing process; from frequently replacing clips over and over (these are perhaps all too noticeable in the finished product), to repeatedly making sure that I had scenes from every Godzilla movie ever made (as of uploading this video) throughout, all resulting in what is probably the most over-edited Godzilla AMV/tribute ever made. XD In all seriousness, though, I mean it when I say that this is probably my favourite video I have made this year. Even though I have only been into the franchise for over half a decade at this point, and as still rather new to certain corners of it (namely the fact that I have still only watched a handful of films in full (pls Toho I beg of you make the Heisei and Millennium Godzilla movies accessible in the UK)), Godzilla - mainly as a character but also the franchise as a whole - holds a special place in my heart, and this video will certainly be a favourite of mine for years to come. Thank you all for watching, and I hope you are looking forward to seeing what I make next. See ya next time.
