Marc Antony - Julius Caesar - Act 3 Scene 2

This monologue is one of my favourites' from all of Shakespeare. Marc Antony's speech to the gathered citizens of Rome after Caesar's death. I had the privilege of performing this and the rest of the role at University. The level of manipulation and play with the crowd's emotions is expertly crafted, and I just adore the way in which the character so easily overturns the popularity of both Brutus and Cassius through simple wordplay. I tried through my performance to convey this sense of manipulation, and also of authority. My take on the character is that here is a man who wants power, and vengeance, and that he is very sly and clever about how he intends to get both. Enjoy!
