WEDNESDAY 29TH OCTOBER 2025 - CRIME WATCH LIVE Today's Highlights: At least 25 dead in Haiti as Hurricane Melissa tears through Caribbean — Cuba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas braced for more destruction • At least 25 people have been killed in Haiti after a river burst its banks amid torrential rains from Hurricane Melissa, which continues to sweep across the Caribbean with devastating force. • According to the mayor of Petit-Goâve, floodwaters surged through communities after the river overflowed, sweeping away homes and vehicles. Rescue operations are ongoing, but local officials fear the death toll could rise. • In Cuba, authorities reported “significant damage” after Melissa made landfall on Wednesday morning as a Category 3 hurricane. Approximately 140,000 residents have been cut off by rising river levels as the storm lashes the island and moves toward the Bahamas. • Melissa earlier struck Jamaica as one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record, causing widespread damage to public infrastructure and leaving most of the island without power. Three people were killed during storm preparations in Jamaica, and one person died in the Dominican Republic.
