Skarlet is a fighting games character in the Mortal Kombat series. A mage of the deadly arts of Blood Magik, she is one of the adopted daughters of the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn and serves as his personal bodyguard. Skarlet made her playable debut in Mortal Kombat (2011) as first DLC. Before that, she was a subject of fan speculation that began with rumors of a glitch in Mortal Kombat II, supported by a fake image. Skarlet returned in Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable character and minor antagonist in the game's Story Mode. Mortal Kombat is a media franchise centered on a series of fighting video games originally developed by Midway Games in 1992. The original Mortal Kombat arcade game spawned a franchise consisting of action-adventure games, a comic book series, a card game, films, an animated TV series, and a live-action tour.
