This video was taken in 2004, which was 1 year after my dad had received surgery that implanted a deep brain stimulator to help counteract the symptoms of Parkinson's disease that affects normal motor functioning. You can see how Parkinson's Disease research and medical advancements has given him a quality of life over the past 16 years that would have otherwise been impossible. I am sharing this video in an effort to raise awareness for Parkinson's disease in hopes that we can continue to make advancements and one day eradicate this illness.
