Easy Game that Kids Love to Practice Sight Words

PARENTS!! Before we do this activity we need to make sure we are teaching each word explicitly! We need to stop memorizing sight words… You may have noticed I put ❤️hearts❤️ under parts of the words - that was intentional. I put the heart under the part of the word that needs to be remembered by “heart” because it is irregular- it doesn’t follow the phonics rule. For example: in the word SAID.. the ai says the short /e/ sound but spelled with ai. Your child needs to know that by heart (not the whole word)! You can also try this sight word activity outside!!! Place the sticky notes around the backyard and have them go find them!!
