The Gujarat government's decision to award remission to 11 of the defendants in the Bilkis Bano gangrape case is being challenged as the petitions will be heard by the Supreme Court on Thursday. Tuesday, the Supreme Court decided to take into account the appeals submitted by women's rights advocates, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, and CPI(M) Politburo member Subhashini Ali. The arguments made by senior attorney Kapil Sibal and attorney Aparna Bhat against the granting of remission and the subsequent release of the defendants in the case were noted by a bench presided over by Chief Justice N V Ramana. In January 2008, a CBI court in Mumbai sentenced eleven defendants in the case to life in jail for alleged gang raping Bilkis Bano while she was many months pregnant. #bilkisbano #bilkisbanorapecase #latestnews SUBSCRIBE NOW | https://bit.ly/SubscribeToMirrorNow For More Updates ► http://www.mirrornownews.com Like us on Facebook ► / mirrornow Follow us on Twitter ► / mirrornow Follow us on Instagram ► / mirrornow_in Subscribe to our other network channels: Times Now Navbharat: https://bit.ly/SubscribeToTNNavbharat Zoom: https://bit.ly/SubscribeToZoom Times Now: https://bit.ly/SubscribeToTimesNow ET Now: https://bit.ly/SubscribeToETNow TN+: https://bit.ly/SubscribeToTNPlus Pushed via Slike
