Connecticut weather: Wintry mix and freezing rain for Monday night into Tuesday

Rain could freeze on contact CONNECTICUT, USA — We may have some light wintry mix developing across CT today, but a major ice storm is looking less likely as temperatures are maybe just a bit too warm for huge issues. That being said, be ready for slick spots with any precip falling today or tonight. During the overnight hours tonight and into the early morning, rain will fall heavily at times, leading to some continued icing and puddles on the roadways. There will be a second winter storm this week that will be with us Thursday into Friday. Again, this one looks like a heavy snow/mix changing to ice and rain. In terms of snow amounts, a few inches looks likely, especially across northern CT. We'll be right on the brink of heavier snow to our north and rain to our south, so a slight wobble in the storm's path can make a big difference. Stay tuned!
