We Found Maelle and This is Her New Friend! Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 #3

I know what kind of services this dude provides! I don't want it!!! Last stream, we were fresh on the trail of a possible expeditioner in trouble! Instead of meeting at our designated rendezvous point, we follow the instructions on the strange message that tells us to find the strange corals. We ended up in some sort of overworld open world area, and after taking out a few baddies, Gustave and Lune decided to make camp to have a rest. At camp, Gustave apologizes to Lune for everything that's happened as well as for is erratic behavior. Lune feels like the assault was her fault considering she chose the spot on the beach to land at. Gustave wants to continue the search into the night, but Lune convinces him otherwise. Gustave almost abandons the entire mission, but once again Lune helps him to keep his head! We then entered into a strange realm called Flying Waters which was a weird aquatic landscape. It looks like the place with the strange corals so we should be in the right place to find whoever left the message. Here we find the boat of expedition 68 which was caught in a massive storm, and it looks like it crashed in this location. It's not long before the two come across a small little hut, and as they approached the front door, they both got sucked in and transported to some mansion. The two have a little poke around before coming across Maelle! We found her! She is unsure of how she ended up in this place after the massacre, and then she introduces us to some strange phantom mummy type dude named the Curator. At the moment, he seems strange but at least he's friendly, and he even helps us figure out Maelle's combat a little bit! After leaving the hut, a small wooden paintbrush creature comes bursting out of the rocks! His name is Noco, and he's part of the Gestral species which ere long thought to be completely mythical. Noco is a trader that also has some nice stuff for us to buy! Lune asks if it is ok to go and meet some more Gestrals, and Noco tells us where to find them. He also tells us that there's another body of water that we need to cross in order to reach the Paintress. He tells us to go find his leaders who will possibly have a solution for us. They're located somewhere with red trees! We continue our exploration of Flying Waters when we find a journal entry from expedition 68 describing how the Paintress created the storm, and how they went on a Nevron massacre after they wrecked! As the crew was about to leave, they come across a single rose sitting in a field. As Gustave has a vision of Sophie, he decides to pick the flower, angering a creature that then came to attack us! As Gustave is about to slay the creature, Lune stops him claiming that she thinks it's not hostile, he just doesn't want us to pick the flowers. Maelle attempts to touch the creature, but it jumps away in fear. Gustave then opens fire on it as it runs away. Maelle said the creature felt familiar somehow. Maelle then has a strange nightmare, and Gustave goes to have a chat with her about it in camp. The two talk about how the expedition was not what they imagined, and Gustave tells Maelle that if death should ever approach, she must run and abandon the expedition. She promises as long as Gustave promises to do the same. We were then able to upgrade our weapons and expedition equipment via the Curator. Gustave has a small chat with lune, and the two of them make each other feel better about their situations. Both are motivated to continue the expedition.
