Lecture date 21st April 2021 In his lecture, Dr Alomaim discusses how Kuwait created its modern identity through architecture in the 20th century. He also shares the most important grand projects (المشاريع الكبرى) which shaped the modern architectural identity of Kuwait City. BIOGRAPHY Dr. Anas Alomaim is an architect, jewelry designer, and an assistant professor of architecture and acting Vice Chair at the Department of Architecture - Kuwait University. After finishing his Master of Architecture and Urban Design at Columbia University he moved to California to do his PhD at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Alomaim worked in several companies and institutions in London, New York City, Los Angeles, and Kuwait. Beside working as an architect and an educator. Dr. Alomaim also curated, co-curated, and participated in several art and architecture exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Dubai, and Kuwait.
